I wrote the verse lyrics to this song outside with Mother Nature. I pulled my car over to a spot where many years earlier, the brother of Matts childhood best friend had stolen his mothers car at age 14 and driven off the bridge into the creek. He pulled himself out of the car and up the embankment with 2 broken legs and damage to his spine.
The lyrics do not reflect this story, but I think some of that catastrophe sunk in the mood of the song.
lyrics
The
Absent noise
Seems
To have me boy
See
With your toys
Do everything that you please
Its your choice
If there was only love
If there was only love
If there was only love
Then I guess id love
Please
Fall asleep
Leave
Don’t think
These
Silent sheets
Wanna rustle and tumble around
Till at my feet
If there was only love
If there was only love
If there was only love
Then I guess id love
Now that the daydreams died
Now that the daydreams died
